GSM Cellular Modems for SMS to Screen

FireText works with any ETSI GSM 07.07 Compatible Cellular USB Modem with an active SIM card and text messaging plan. So any Text Message that your audience sends to the phone number of the USB modem will be received and processed by FireText. The incoming text messages will be shown within your inbox of your FireText Administrator software, where you can then send it to your display TV screens. FireText can also process text messages in international fonts and languages, and will display them within your text to screen feed.

Follow the steps outlined below on how to get a USB Modem connected with your FireText Software:

  • Installing your Manufacturer's Drivers, use Huawei or ZTE Brands.
  • Modifying the settings within FireText to receive SMS messages.

This is a general guide on how to connect your USB modem, we don't offer manufacturer specific support.

Note: We don't offer additional technical support on USB modems, because they are manufacturer specific, but as long as you follow the guidelines above you will be ready to receive sms messages with FireText.

Here's a few setting tips that will help your FireText run smoother.

No other background applications - Make sure FireText is the only software on your PC connecting to your USB modem. Some manufacturers pre-bundle their USB modems with their own software. Just close down the manfacturer's software everytime you plugin your USB modem to your computer, but do not uninstall the manufactuers software, because it contains important drivers for FireText to run.

Pre-Paid SIM Cards - You can use them, but we recommend going with a monthly cellular plan.

Speed - USB modems can receive 30 sms messages per minute and send 15 outgoing sms messages simultaneously.
